Broncos 29, Steelers 23: Your Thoughts … in Six Words or Less

DENVER – Who knew?

Who knew that the “funny feeling” I sensed Sunday morning was shared by others? From David Treadwell in the 850 KOA studio to fellow reporters in the press box to one of the groomsmen in my wedding, we all came to that sensation by early Sunday afternoon independent of each other, but had the same unquantifiable sense that something stunning was about to happen?

Who knew that after spending the second quarter of every regular-season game playing like minnows, that the Broncos would transform into second-quarter piranhas against the Steelers?

I don’t think many fans knew.

If they did, they wouldn’t have been so amazed over what happened.

This was more than a playoff win. This was the best Sunday for the Broncos and their fans in at least a decade. This was the most memorable game in the 11-season history of Sports Authority Field at Mile High. This was a day when the clouds of over five years defined by decline, despair and the untimely deaths of three players finally broke.

The sun shone on the Broncos once again, and for their fans, that was worthy of amazement, awe and outright giddiness, as you’ll see below from thoughts that were Tweeted to us Sunday night:

You’d be foolish not to believe!

Heyward4MVP

BoHussey
Three losses for THAT win, okay.

scottnash80
Tebow more playoff wins than Orton.

cgoliver
I can’t… I just…. Um…. I…

MASON: It’s okay to babble. Even encouraged:

Truth480

When it matters most, Tebow delivers.

lomaxgr
First United win then this … #sixwordsorless

MASON: Vincent Kompany should never have been red-carded. Chris Foy is a disgrace. No one pays to see you capitulate to Wayne Rooney, sir. Still, United’s win could be seen coming 20 miles away. The sole positive is that City can put more energy into the Europa League and hopefully raise its UEFA coefficient up to avoid the Group of Death in the Champions League next year. Rant concluded. Signed, a bitter Manchester City supporter.

@Denver_Broncos @MaxBroncos @TimTebow Holding my 4 day old daughter during OT touchdown. Nothing could be better. I have always believed!

MASON: I don’t normally break the six-words rule, but like Baxter to Ron Burgundy, that cut right to my core. Even more than lomaxgr’s salute to Manchester United at my Premier League club’s expense.

amac1515
Can’t believe what I just saw.

ballinnickcast
Tebow Time Is Here To Stay.

djthump
UN – FREAK – ING – BE – LIEV – ABLE.

Brandon Spano was right all along.

Dgilarchbald
Tebowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Elway had the drive, Tebow has “ThePlay.”
